The Galleon ecosystem is controlled by DBL token holders who vote on off-chain proposals that govern the ecosystem. Proposals will be raised on the Brethren Court, as Galleon Improvement Proposals (GIPs) before going to snapshot.

Our Optimistic governance model, means that all raised snapshots will be in favour off, and voting is for “against” proposals (>5% of the vote).

DBL

The DBL token is a tool for coordination between Galleon contributors, community, and associated protocols. It was created to decentralise the management and development of Galleon’s structured products while providing an environment for fast paced innovation.

Governance and Operations

Since 17th March 2022, Galleon initiated its Optimistic Governance DAO model, managed by DBL holders. This approach allows protocol development to not be stiffened by bureaucracy while maintaining a sufficient level of decentralisation.

Breakdown of roles:

• DBL holders vote for changes to the protocol or the protocols governance structure
• Core Crew focus on specific aspects of the protocol or relevant operations
• Multisig members execute or veto any on-chain decisions
